i can't get this movie out of my head.

i watched it this weekend while working on some orders and i don't think i was very productive while it was on...more often than not i would just set whatever i was working on down just so i could watch.

if you've got 7 or 8 hours to spare (maybe if you're sick or having a lazy weekend...) then you MUST watch this mini-series. it seriously sucks you in and you have to watch what happens until the very end. you see these characters over their entire liftimes, generations of mistakes and love and tragedy, and it's so painful but poetic to watch.

of course, the main story is the love between meggie cleary, the only daughter in a family full of boys, and ralph de bricassart, who's a priest and sworn to celibacy. there's is the most tragic story of all.

i cry every time i watch the thorn birds. if you're a fan of the pride and prejudice mini-series or anything like that, then you have to make time and watch this. the story is that good. the book is really good, too but there's just something about actually seeing the characters and the australian outback and hearing the music that you couldn't get from the book. love love LOVE the thorn birds.

  1. So, I remember hearing about this show. I only know the guy. He's the prince on "The Slipper and the Rose" Sounds like a good one to rent sometime!
