this blog just made it's way onto my "blogs i stalk" favorites folder. mostly she just blogs about the outfits she puts together on a limited budget and it's actually highly entertaining. the pictures are cute, the outfits are cute...cutecutecute. definitely some good clothing inspiration.

tutorial tuesday: newspaper giftbags

this tutorial from how about orange is so, so great. i'm always finding myself at the last moment rummaging around for a giftbag and i'll find 5 but they're the wrong size...this idea is perfect for someone like me! this would look really cute if done with the funnies page, too. love it!

this isn't exactly a free tutorial i can share, because you have to go to this lovely lady's etsy shop to purchase the patterns. but i just had to share these pictures. you have to look at her shop, rediculously talentend.

new book: the goose girl

i was kind of hesitant about it, even though i heard it was a good read, because i've read a couple of other shannon hale books and i find them sometimes kind of...boring. it's like she's intentionally writing for a junior high class room with good, standard morals and plucky heroines that you could write an essay about...and it doesn't help that at the back of each book it provides questions for classroom discussions.

but i really enjoyed it. i really like the little world she's created and the story kept me turning pages, i read it start to finish in 3 hours while on a plane. there's 3 other books in the bayern series and i'm looking forward to reading them. i love finding a new book i like, and then finding out there's a whole series.

tutorial tuesday: chalkboard paint jars

i LOVE this idea. i've never used chalkboard paint before but this seems like an easy-peesy idea to try out. i like how her chalkboard rectangles are inexact, who wants to spend forever making it super perfect? i think it would look cute, too to have the rectangle turn into a strip going all the way around the jar, so you could draw little designs around it.
