five friday favorites: halloween movies!
(in no particular order)

"hocus pocus"

i know, i know...a cheesy disney movie? really? i don't care, i LOVE this movie. i always watch it whenever it comes on tv around halloween. i think sarah jessica parker and the zombie ex-boyfriend are pretty funny.

"beetlejuice"

you can't make a halloween movie list without a tim burton movie. everyone is so perfectly cast, love this movie.

"edward scissorhands " my favorite halloween movie, and one of my favorite movies of all time. everything is so perfect about this movie, it makes me cry.

"it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown"
a classic. it wouldn't be halloween without it. i love when sally gets sooo mad at linus for making her stay to watch "the great pumpkin" and missing out on trick or treating. sorry, that was a spoiler.

"the witches"
this movie scared me as a kid, too. i mean, they KILL kids. or put them in paintings. that part always gave me creeps. and angelica huston's witch makeup at the end?! holy scary.

tutorial tuesday: bling your pumpkin

love this idea. would be perfect to carry over to thanksgiving, too. there's not really a tutorial for this, but i imagine you would just take a pen and trace a spiderweb (like in the first picture) or some swirls (like in the second picture) and then use a hot glue gun to attach the rhinestones. you can find rhinestones like these at any craft store, or even wal-mart. so fun!

(p.s. don't wanna waste all those fancy jewels when the pumpkin goes bad? decorate a fake pumpkin instead - again, can be purchased at any craft store or some place like wal-mart - and bring it out to enjoy every year.)

some new snap clips...

these are actually some of favorite style of clips. my little girl has a side part with long bangs and i use these snap clips often to sweep her hair quickly to the side just for going to the store or something. just listed in the shop for $2.50 each.
